Under the Christmas Tree...

One of the traditions we have in our house is laying under the Christmas tree after it is all decorated.  We turn off all the lights in the house and leave just the tree lights on.  There is just something about the sparkle, the Christmas music, the peace and quiet, the simplicity of just laying under the tree.  I LOVE IT!  This year was even more special because we got to see it through the eyes of our son.  It gave a whole new joy to this precious tradition.  To see Jaedon's eyes light up, lets just say I needed the tissue....see for yourself....

His first glance, precious!

He was completely enthralled with the tree lights.

He kept smiling and giggling

He loves his tree

"I wonder what Santa's putting under here for me???" LOL!

On to month 2

Hello Month 2!  We cannot believe how fast time is moving and how quickly Jaedon is growing.  Each day it seems he changes a little more and we are fascinated by just watching this little guy.  He is truly the light of our life and we just simply adore him!
To say Jaedon is growing like a weed is a complete UNDERSTATEMENT!  Since he is our first baby we have nothing to measure him against, so when we went for his 2 month visit imagine our shock to find out he is about a month ahead developmentally!  The pediatrician told us not to be surprised if he is crawling by 3.5-4 months, OH MY!  He is a very strong baby, already holding himself up on his arms and legs.

Mr. Jaedon is now 11.8 lbs and 23" long.  He is measuring in the 71% for his height, he is going to be one tall little boy!  Jaedon is now holding his head up on his own, which means he wants to be looking around all the time.  He has found his voice, his hands and his tong.  The drool has begun and the we are spitting everywhere because that is what you do when you finally realize what your tong does :-).  He is sleeping in his own room and boy does he like to sleep!  We are now going 10-12 hours through the night, but the pediatrician has assured us this is a great thing and part of the reason he is growing so well. He is still struggling with the reflux, but with the help of some great meds we seem to be 90% better than last month, praise Jesus!  We keep praying for complete healing from it.

We love our little happy baby boy so much!  We love watching him grow and seeing the world through his eyes.  Each day there is something new for him to discover and he is so animated it makes it even more fun!  By far the best part of my day is just getting to sit and talk to him, hearing him coo and seeing him smile back at me.  I love being his mommy, he is such a blessing to us!

Enjoy the pics from month 2....on to month 3....

Look mom I found my tong!

Daddy loves his boy...

If I had to choose one thing that melts my heart it would be seeing Jaedon wrapped up in his daddy's arms.  Knowing Patricks heart and how long he waited for this little one only makes these moments even sweeter.  Jaedon has had a special relationship with his daddy from the moment he was born, I have no doubt they will be close as Jaedon grows.
I loved catching a fews pics of my boys this week, they are my daily reminder just how blessed I truly am.
Warm and cozy!

Sleepy boy

LOVE this picture!  My greatest blessings.

Oh to be amazed...

Have you ever heard a song that, in just a few verses, can sum up all you are unable to formulate in your own words?  Tonight I had such an encounter with a worship song.  You see, when it comes to the speaking about the weekend Jaedon came into this world, I have been unable to really put into words just how I felt, until now.  I can talk all day about the 7 years leading to his match with us, but when I recall that weekend it is such a personal thing between the Father and I, I just haven't been able to really get through talking about it without a flood of tears and emotions.  How do I express to those around me just how amazing God is, in all He did for all involved in the weekend this precious little one was born.  From the doctors and nurses, to the birth family, to our precious adoption counselor....there are just so many ways God worked on our behalf.

So I will let me this song speak the words I have been unable to find, to simply describe the weekend Jaedon came to be apart of our forever family...

Oh holy God, I stay amazed
You are so much more than words could ever say
Oh holy God, I pour out my praise
On the One who never ceases to amaze

I couldn't say it better if I tried, He truly is the ONE who never ceases to amaze!  He never fails, He never fades, He never changes, He never stops pouring His love out upon us and He NEVER ceases to amaze.  I cannot hear these words sung without being brought to my knees in tears.  Jaedon is more than just the gift of a child, he is a reminder to all who hear his story of a God that NEVER ceases to amaze.  I stand amazed that God lead Jaedon's precious birth mother to chose us to be His parents, and I don't see that amazement ever departing.

A camera, a mom and precious boy....

What do you get when you combine a proud mom with a precious baby and throw in one sweet camera....MONTHLY PHOTO SHOOTS!  Actually to be completely honest my camera has not seen its bag since Jaedon came home.  Not a day goes by that I am not shooting picture after picture.  Since Jaedon was born October 1st it only seemed fitting to have his 1 month photo shoot in his Halloween Costume!  Of course this is just the first of many shoots to come.  Hope you enjoy the pics, this is just a few.  Stay tuned for infant shoot photo's, they are AWESOME!!!!

He's praising Jesus :-)

Month One!

Unbelievable seems to be the best way to describe our first month as parents to precious baby Jaedon.  We are completely in love with this little guy and daily thank God for the miraculous gift He has given us.  I still cannot fully grasp all that has transcribe in just 8 weeks, it is nothing short of God's goodness.

By now I had hoped to blog about the weekend Jaedon came into this world, but the emotions are still so raw.  Not a day goes by that I don't think about or pray for Jaedon's birth mother, whom I lovingly will call "Grace" (for privacy, but really because that describes her so well), tears are not far behind.  I am missing her so very much and look forward to the time when we will be able to see her again.  She is an incredible woman and we love her more than we could ever express in words.  Lord willing I can share more about her in future blogs...stay tuned.

SO how was month one???
At the risk of gushing I will say Jaedon is one amazing baby!  He is a very docile and content little guy.  Even in dealing with acid reflux these past few weeks, he has been so content.  He seems to be growing like a weed.  At our last visit (3weeks) Jaedon measured 9.5 lbs, 21" long.   He is a very active, strong baby.  By far his favorite part of the day is bath time.   He LOVES to be naked, which is evident by the big toothless smile he gives us each night as we get him undressed.
Nights are so peaceful in our house, often Jaedon is drifting off to sleep on the changing table as we get him dressed for bed.  We spend each night praying over him and for his birth family, and make it a point to put him to bed together at the same time each night.  Jaedon has become a very routine baby to say the least, we truly are blessed.
I could go on and on and on, what can I say I am a very proud mama and love my son SO MUCH!

AND how are we doing???
We are great!  Jaedon seems to be attaching to us without any issues, which I would attribute mainly to the few days we spent with him in the hospital prior to bringing him home.  We are so grateful to "Grace" for all she sacrificed for us to help this transition, she is such an amazing woman.
Thanks to the advice of our pediatrician, Jaedon started sleeping 6.5 hour stretches through the night at just 2 weeks old and just this past week he moved to a stretch of 8 hours!
Since Jaedon is bottle/formula fed we have been splitting his feedings in the early morning hours.  I am SO BLESSED to have such an amazing husband who takes part in every aspect of Jaedon's life.  The time Patrick has spent with Jaedon is evident in how much Jaedon has attached to his daddy.
Jaedon's smile melts our hearts and brings tears to our eyes, we cannot imagine life without him.  The hardest part has been working out the issues with his acid reflux.  Watching your child go through pain is by far one of the most difficult things I have ever experienced.  Daily I am reminded just how much we need to rely on the Lord for direction in raising this little guy.  WE JUST LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!!!

AND how is Roxy???
Surprisingly Roxy has taken a serious liking to Jaedon.  Where ever Jaedon goes, Roxy is not far behind.  It is not uncommon for Roxy to sleep at the foot of Jaedon's bouncer or underneath his swing.  She has become a very protective little dog, which is evident in how she growls at anyone she is not familiar with who gets close to Jaedon.  It is the first time we have ever heard her bark and growl!  The cutest part is seeing her bring Jaedon all of her toys and wait patiently, we are not sure she understands that Jaedon cannot play with her, SO CUTE!  We are blessed she has adjusted to Jaedon so well.

So there you have it.  We continue to be blessed by all the prayers and encouragement we have received from friends, family and those we have never even met.  Stay tuned for pics from baby Jaedon's newborn shoot, for now here as some pics from month one!
